Regular readers know I’m a big fan of V-Flats. Black or White side they are an incredibly versatile piece of kit to have at your disposal. If you don’t have the luxury of a studio then have a white and black sheet in your tool bag to bounce light or enhance shadow.
In this setup though we put the black sides behind Carrie and a black sheet on the floor to create a set that absorbed light and enhanced the richness of colour. Carrie wore a colourful shirt and we lit the whole thing with a single beauty dish on axis to put shadowless light onto her and also some onto the V Flat background. That brought out the texture and produced a nicely vignetted backdrop.
