A Walk in the Woods, Part 2

On a hot, hot day it was great to be out and about in the woods of Lickey Hills, a fantastically beautiful area just outside Birmingham.

We were a little later getting there than would be desirable for golden hour light, soft light etc so with the sun almost overhead in a cloudless sky we scuttled for tree cover. I positioned Sophie in even soft light and then assessed the background. I wanted the strongest light behind her to add depth to the images.

There was a strong green cast to the images as the light was filtered by the canopy of leaves overhead. I knew I wanted to play with the colours later in post production so shot on my usual cloudy white balance and RAW format.

I’ve included the full set of images so you can make your own mind up as to the strongest poses and see the way we tweaked pose between images.

If you’d like to join us on the next walk we’ll be announcing dates at the end of the week.
